pencil fall - נפילת עיפרון

Pencil dive & Hands above your head.

don’t underestemate the power of the situation

HANDS ABOUVE YOUR HEAD.

If i had not put my arms above my head

I would have gotten the rails in my jaws,

head or my clavicle. Yeah, it hurst like hell.

You can see in the slow-motion video that the board got pushed away from something.

That something was my scapula and muscles.

But I guess my instinct of putting the arms above my head was a better choice.

It could have got real close for a different outcome!

Pencil dive is a crucial skill to learn!

How and When?

You jump away from your board feet first – but only if it is deep!

Hands always above your head. Once you hit the water, bend a bit your hip, knees and hip

so you won’t hit the ground, and lean back.

Embrace your fall and try to stay calm. Don’t struggle, let your body to react how ever it feels.

This fall is good when you want to ditch yourself underneath the water, or when you want to

get out from a big steep green wave and you know you might not make it or get hit by your board.

No matter what surf level you are,

Or how many years your in the water,

Especially when you are a beginner,

With or without lessons!

PUT YOUR HANDS ABOVE YOUR HEAD!

You need to repeat it, like every other skill as popping up, or paddling.

You never know where it will hit you!

ice pack for brushes made with small little liquid ice balls and a Trammel cream tube for muscle tissues bruises.
Ice pack & Traummel

So what do I do when I get hurt?

If there is a doubt – I check it!

If it is just a bruise (because I checked it)

I ice it for 5-10 min with my special ice pack injuries,

Move in small range of motion,

And put tones of Traumeel,

It’s a good homeopathic cream for your muscle tissue.

That’s the physical side.

The mental side…

Well I was pretty bummed!

The past few weeks I wasn’t synced with the waves.

My head is all over the place, a lot of stress of what the unknown future holds.

No one knows.

And that plays a big Role on my mental state in surfing.

I’ve learned not to resist, because when you resist, you put more pressure on yourself

And it can wear you down.

On the other hand, when you release, you expand. you breath, and there is room for healing.

So, I except. I give it a lot of love and room, no judgments. And release it.

No matter what happens, there is always a new day tomorrow

And a new surf in a couple of days.

Coconat 🙂
